The role you will play 

As our new Compliance Officer (manager level), you have a unique opportunity to be part of a high performing organisation where you can help colleagues make the right ethical and compliant decisions. You will take on the responsibility for further developing and strengthening the general compliance framework in AIP, as well as supporting the organisation in its day-to-day business, including supporting from a regulatory perspective on investment projects and attending to ad-hoc requests.

 

Your primary focus will be to ensure a high standard of regulatory compliance so that AIP's investment activities comply with applicable legislation and are carried out with a high degree of integrity and respect for the investors' interests.

You will oversee the compliance efforts in AIP, focusing on protecting our business and our employees and maintaining a good reputation.

 

The Compliance function is responsible for ensuring that AIP has a functioning compliance programme, including policies, procedures, training, monitoring, and periodically reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors.

 

The Compliance function is functionally separated from other teams; however, you will work closely with the risk team as well as other teams within AIP’s business.

  • Developing and implementing an overall compliance strategy for AIP and promoting a strong compliance culture across the organisation via, inter alia, partnering with the different business areas to ensure compliance by design, ad hoc guidance, awareness campaigns, training, and presentations.
  • Partnering with the ESG team on regulatory requirements and questions, especially on SFDR and on topics related to AIP’s responsibilities on securing compliance with inter alia sanctions, human rights, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, anti-bribery, corruption and other reputational risks.
  • Partnering with colleagues on governance on policies, IT security, data privacy, GDPR, AML/CTF and risk management activities.
  • Managing AIP’s third-party management and financial crime prevention (AML/CTF) programme, including implementation of policies, procedures, IT solutions and training.
  • In collaboration with management and the relevant functions, handling ongoing correspondence with and inspections by regulatory authorities in the jurisdictions of AIP.
  • Generally, identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory compliance risks.
  • Designing, implementing, and continuously optimising best-in-class policies and compliance procedures and tools to comply with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.

Desired experience and competencies

What you will need to bring 

  • A relevant master’s degree, e.g. Master of Laws or MSc. in Business Administration and Commercial Law, MSc. in Business Administration or another relevant field.
  • Minimum five years of post-graduation experience working as a compliance professional.
  • Great stakeholder management skills with an innate ability to create relationships with stakeholders externally and internally. 
  • A project management mindset to all assignments and skills to deliver results in a medium-sized organisation like AIP.
  • Language skills in Danish and English (fluent written and spoken).
  • Strong work ethic and personal and professional integrity.

 

This will make you stand out  

  • Work experience from another investment fund manager, a financial institution, a private equity fund, a corporation within the energy sector or other corporation operating within a regulated industry with comparable compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge about compliance requirements under the FAIF regulation.
  • You can communicate complex issues in simple and concise terms to various stakeholders.
  • Bringing a tech-savvy mindset to the role and comfort in driving the digitalisation of AIP’s compliance programme.
